The world's largest tower crane, XCMG XGT15000-600S, walked off the production line on 2nd June in Xuzhou Construction and Machinery Group. Weighing 4000 tons, this giant iron equipment can lift 35 J-20 fighters at a time to a height of 143 floors.  XGT15000-600S is a milestone marking that China's tower crane has taken the initiative in the world industry.

XGT15000-600S, jointly developed by XCMG and China Railway Bridge Bureau, boasts a maximum lifting height of 400m and a maximum lifting weight of 600t. It made breakthroughs in more than 60 key core technologies, and effectively met the 'old and difficult' needs in the construction such as heavy hoisting components, high construction height and large operation span.

Chenghong MI, the chief designer of the product, introduced that this 'super equipment' for 'super engineering' has 10 world pioneer technologies, including bilateral six cylinder synchronous jacking, four mechanism double luffing cooperative operation, and closed-loop balance pump control of hydraulic system. The comprehensive technical level of the whole machine is leading the world. 'We have also made 10 world records in the industry. For example, the lifting torque can reach 15000 ton meters. Think  this way: give me a 200mm support and I can lift up the aircraft carrier Shandong ship.'

Weiqi MAO, chief engineer of China Railway Bridge Bureau Group Co., Ltd., said that the giant tower crane meant a leap forward of the two enterprises on the basis of years of cooperation. It is also a strong alliance between bridge construction enterprises and engineering equipment enterprises.

After the tower crane is delivered to China Railway Bridge Bureau, it will be used for the construction of Changtai Yangtze River Bridgethe world's largest span cable-stayed bridge, and Maanshan Yangtze River Bridgethe world's first highway railway dual-purpose cable-stayed bridge. It will complete a series of steel tower hoisting operations with a maximum lifting weight of more than 500 tons at an altitude of 300 meters, meeting the new needs of large-scale bridge construction modules.

The world's 'No.1 Tower' is the result of XCMG's adherence to technological innovation for many years. In 1957, XCMG successfully produced the first 2-6t tower crane in China. In recent years, XCMG has increased R & D investment, formed a complete product type spectrum, and mastered more than 500 key core technologies.
