402 Ton Heavy Duty Transport! XCA4000 Easily Masters Rugged Mountain Roads
Amid the towering mountains of Guangxi, the “World’s No. 1 Crane”—XCMG XCA4000 all-terrain crane—is once again performing wind turbine installation with remarkable power. Its exceptional performance and stability demonstrate the strength of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing.
Operating in complex mountainous terrain with steep slopes and limited space, the XCA4000 accomplished an impressive heavy-duty transport in T1 configuration: with a total weight of 402.5 tons, it carried a complete boom and outriggers. Leveraging its “6+2 dual-power drive” system, the crane exhibited outstanding climbing ability and mobility, maintaining steady performance even on unpaved roads and steep slopes.
Featuring a modular assembly design, the XCA4000’s 85-meter main boom, consisting of 6 sections, can be assembled safely and efficiently within just 1.5 hours. Through customized development, XCMG has significantly streamlined the component connection process, greatly reducing manual labor intensity and on-site operational risks. This ensures fast, safe, and reliable assembly.
The wind turbine being installed this time stands at a height of 125 meters—a effortless task for the “World’s No. 1 Crane,” which is capable of handling extreme working conditions of up to 190 meters in height and 190 tons in weight.
Since its global debut in March 2024, the XCA4000 has consistently pushed performance boundaries and set new engineering records, fully showcasing the advanced capabilities of Chinese manufacturing. To date, over 10 units of the 4000-ton crane have been deployed across multiple provinces and regions, including Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Shaanxi, Tianjin, and Guangxi. As a representative super-equipment in China’s wind power installation sector, it continues to expand new frontiers in lifting height and difficulty.
