Braving -20°C: XCMG’s Green Intelligent Equipment Deployed at Bohai Bay

As Bohai Bay endures the bitter cold of -20°C, XCMG’s new-energy reach stackers and empty container handlers — characterized by zero emissions, robust power, high intelligence, and extreme cold resistance — have been delivered in batches to a key hub port in northern Bohai Bay. This deployment charts a new course for the port’s green transformation and upgrade.
Cold waves, salt spray, round-the-clock operations… These are not merely daily realities at Bohai Bay ports; they represent the critical battle for efficiency and cost control confronting operators.
Defining technology through real-world scenarios, XCMG has developed a customized cold-region solution that integrates green and intelligent design. The new-generation E-series equipment ensures the efficient and stable operation of the three-core electric system in temperatures as low as -20°C, significantly boosting overall operational energy efficiency.

Port authorities have expressed high recognition:
“Reliable equipment is pivotal for driving green upgrades. XCMG not only leads in product performance but also delivers a full-lifecycle green intelligent solution and digital service support, tailored to our extreme working conditions and zero-carbon goals. This further strengthens our confidence in long-term collaboration!”
The batch deployment of these reach stackers and handlers marks a strategic move in XCMG’s expansion of new-energy mobile port machinery.
Concurrently, XCMG Port Machinery has initiated a “Dedicated Support Plan,” providing dual-line services via “on-site experts + cloud-based intelligence.” Leveraging a digital O&M system and a regional spare parts network, the plan enables 7×24 intelligent monitoring and rapid response, ensuring uninterrupted port operations.
Previously, XCMG’s electric empty container handlers became the first and only pure-electric mobile machinery at this port. With the ongoing introduction of diverse new-energy equipment, an integrated, low-carbon, and smart new-generation port operating system is rapidly taking shape along the Bohai Bay coast.
