XCMG, Chinese leading manufacturer, has introduced a new all terrain crane with a 120 tonne capacity in Europe. According to XCMG, the 120 tonne rating is based on a 2.5-meter radius and at 3 meters, the crane can lift 80 tonnes. The XCA120 E comes on a four-axle carrier and has a 66-meter boom consisting of six sections. An offsettable bi-fold swingaway jib measuring between 11.65 to 18.5 meters can be added, and a maximum tip height of just over 96 meters can be achieved by inserting a pair of 7.1-meter lattice extensions between the end of the boom and the swingaway. The maximum working radius of the crane is 60 meters.

The crane is powered by an MTU diesel engine that drives both the carrier and the crane upper. It is equipped with a ZF TraXon transmission with 12 forward speeds and drives the three rearmost axles. A retarder is also standard, as well as all-wheel steering. XCMG stated that the crane has independent suspension, which is similar to that used by Grove.

The crane's overall width can be kept to 2.75 meters, depending on the choice of tires. The outriggers can be set at five spread widths, ranging from 3.83 to 7 meters, including their fully retracted position. The maximum total counterweight of the crane is 33 tonnes, made up of eight slabs that allow for multiple configurations.
