Same Speed for Electric and Diesel, 200 Units Delivered! XCMG New Energy Heavy-Duty Trucks Lead the Entry into the Ultra-Fast Charging Era
As the global "Dual Carbon" goals advance and the new energy industry rapidly evolves, the heavy-duty truck sector is undergoing a critical transition from the fuel era to the electric era. As a key player in this transformation, XCMG Automotive has partnered with Huawei Digital Power to build a "Heavy-Duty Truck Ultra-Fast Charging Ecosystem." On August 22, the company delivered 200 XCMG ultra-fast charging heavy-duty trucks in Beichuan, Sichuan.
The new energy heavy-duty truck market is experiencing rapid growth with increasing penetration rates. However, core challenges such as "range anxiety" and "charging efficiency" remain significant. XCMG, in collaboration with Huawei, has broken through technical barriers by introducing an ultra-fast charging solution that improves charging efficiency by six times compared to traditional models, achieving large-scale implementation of megawatt-level ultra-fast charging for heavy-duty trucks.
Why is the ultra-fast charging solution for electric heavy-duty trucks viable? The key lies in the tangible benefits it delivers.
Currently, electric heavy-duty trucks on the market typically require about one hour for fast charging. In contrast, XCMG’s megawatt ultra-fast charging heavy-duty trucks support dual-gun charging with a current of 2400A, delivering up to 29 kWh of charge per minute. With just five minutes of charging, these trucks can achieve a range of 100 kilometers.
Taking Beichuan as an example, calculations show that ultra-fast charging heavy-duty trucks can save RMB 1.5 per kilometer in energy costs, amounting to annual savings of RMB 150,000. Over three years, this savings is equivalent to the cost of a new truck. Moreover, the significant improvement in charging efficiency boosts operational efficiency at charging stations by over 15%.
XCMG Automotive has made green transformation a cornerstone of its development strategy, leading the way in integrating technological innovation with industrial advancement. It is recognized as the company with the "earliest layout in the new energy heavy-duty truck industry, the most comprehensive product range, and the largest global export orders for new energy heavy-duty trucks." Additionally, XCMG has established a self-contained, controllable ecosystem encompassing core component R&D, forward-looking vehicle development, charging infrastructure compatibility, and operational dataclosed-loop data integration.
