Beijing – XCMG Group and Australia’s Fortescue recently held a grand signing ceremony in Beijing for a strategic cooperation agreement on green mining equipment and solutions. The contract for new-energy mining equipment was signed by Mr. Yang Dongsheng, Chairman of XCMG Group and XCMG Machinery, and Dr. Andrew Forrest, Executive Chairman of Fortescue. As per the agreement, XCMG will supply 150 to 200 units of 240-ton pure electric mining trucks to Fortescue between 2028 and 2030, marking China’s largest export order for green mining machinery to date.

The deal marks a significant milestone for XCMG in securing this record-breaking order. This fleet of equipment is set to fulfill nearly half of Fortescue’s future requirements for 240-ton zero-emission haul trucks. These trucks will support Fortescue’s iron ore mining operations, directly contributing to the company’s goal of achieving zero-carbon terrestrial operations by 2030.
