XCMG’s “Road and Bridge Multi-source Collaborative Intelligent Inspection Technology and Equipment Development”project won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award and became the only annual award-winning enterprise in the construction machinery industry.

XCMG breaks the monopoly and gains outstanding achievements in self-reliance

 

The National Science and Technology Award is the highest honor in the field of science and technology in our country. According to the relevant person in charge of the National Science and Technology Award Office, in 2020, the three major awards of the National Natural Science Award, the National Technology Invention Award, and the National Science and Technology Progress Award will be further reduced, and the award rate will drop to 14.9%. The application of the nominated results will take three years. The above has raised the threshold for participating in the evaluation, and all are open to foreign countries, and the competition has further intensified.

 

XCMG used wisdom and sweat to successfully break the foreign monopoly and ended the history of Chinese people not being able to manufacture bridge inspection vehicles. It became the first Chinese company to successfully develop and manufacture this product independently, achieving a milestone development.

 

China’s first bridge inspection vehicle, China’s first truss bridge inspection vehicle, China’s first export bridge inspection vehicle, China’s first bridge inspection vehicle industry standard, XCMG has created many firsts one after another, accounting for more than 50% of the domestic market.

 

This award-winning project lasted for twelve years, and a total of 16 models of bridge inspection vehicles in two categories were developed to achieve industrialization, light weight, and intelligence, which can meet the inspection work of various bridges at home and abroad, and make the bridge high-precision , high-efficiency and high-reliability intelligent detection becomes a reality.

 

XCMG concentrates on research, swearing to reach the top of innovative technology

XCMG bridge inspection vehicle provided high-precision bridge structure status data for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Shanghai-Sutong Yangtze River Highway Bridge, which strongly supported the final acceptance. The opening of these two bridges to traffic is of great significance to promote the economic and social development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration.

 

XCMG overcomes difficulties and makes heavy equipment export abroad

 

XCMG actively responds to the needs of overseas markets, makes XCMG products go to the world, and demonstrate the importance of bridge inspection vehicles. With the increasing demand for products, the international market places higher demands on the R&D team in terms of regulations, policies, and equipment usage habits.

 

In the Korean bridge inspection vehicle export project, the requirements of Korean regulations on the outer dimensions and axle load of the product can be described as harsh. The height and width of the product are not allowed to exceed 1mm, and the axle load is also not allowed to exceed 1kg. “European brands are said to be difficult, can you do this?”Korean customers questioned Chinese manufacturing.

 

The R&D team did not evade, let alone fear of difficulties. At the beginning of the product project, special personnel were arranged to conduct market research in South Korea, repeatedly demonstrated, actively communicated with Korean customers to improve technical solutions, and finally completed the product drawing design within a very short delivery period. .

 

At present, the key technology and series products of the project have been widely used in the construction and maintenance of various large and medium-sized bridges across the country, and are sold in batches in South Korea, Central Asia, Southeast Asia and other countries and regions.

 

In recent years, XCMG has continuously strengthened its innovation drive, consolidated its position as the main innovation player, and successfully developed a large number of major technological equipment and products, which has played an important role in strengthening the national strategic scientific and technological strength and promoting high-level self-reliance. Up to now, XCMG has 8349 valid authorized patents, including 1916 invention patents and 114 international patents. It has presided over and participated in the formulation and revision of 5 international standards and 194 national and industry standards. Accumulatively, XCMG has won two gold awards for Chinese patents, one silver award, and one first prize for China Standard Innovation Contribution.
